  David Lynch, a 22-year-old man, was struck by a car at around 3am on Easter Monday, 21 April 2003, while walking along Blanchardstown Main Street in Dublin with his friend John McGuinness. The driver did not stop or report the incident, and David died from his injuries in hospital six days later. In April 2023, twenty years after his death, gardaí and the Lynch family made a fresh appeal for information on RTÉ Crimecall. The latest development is that gardaí believe the car was a silver Ford Mondeo taxi with its taxi plate light switched off, and they are asking the driver to come forward; no arrest or charge is reported.
