  David Burke, a man from Bumlin, Strokestown, was stopped at a Garda checkpoint at Mullolagher, County Longford, at 9.20am on a date not given in the sources. An oral fluid sample tested positive for cannabis, and he was arrested and taken to Longford Garda Station, where a blood test exceeded the drug-driving limit. He pleaded guilty at Longford District Court on May 30, 2024.   Unknown persons have been occupying 23 Pembroke Cottages, Donnybrook, Dublin 4, without permission from the estate of Declan Gorman, who died in March 2019. In September 2021, auctioneers acting for the estate's executor David Burke discovered the property was occupied, and a Garda was refused entry when the trespass was reported. Neighbours told the Garda that several people had been seen at the property doing construction work and scaffolding was observed. On 23 November 2021, the High Court granted an unopposed injunction requiring the unknown occupiers to immediately vacate the property.
