• Man sentenced for manslaughter of housemate in Wexford Manslaughter · Co. Wexford

  David Bolger, a 45-year-old man, was sentenced on 31 October 2023 to ten years and six months in prison for the manslaughter of his housemate Przemyslaw Klimczuk, a 43-year-old man. Bolger stabbed Klimczuk with a kitchen knife on 30 April 2020 in a house the two shared off Greenville Lane in Enniscorthy, Wexford, after a row during a night of heavy drinking during the Covid-19 lockdown. A post-mortem found Klimczuk died from a single puncture wound. At the Central Criminal Court in July 2023, Bolger was found not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter. The judge, Mr Justice Tony Hunt, set the sentence at ten years and six months with the final 18 months suspended and ordered 12 months of probation supervision after release.
