  On 7 April 2020, Vincent Collopy, 44, and his brother Jonathan Collopy, 37, both men from Limerick City, were accused of driving an Audi Q7 into a horse-drawn sulky cart at Sandy Lane, Boher, County Limerick, and assaulting the driver, Darren Wallace, 37, and his nephew Jamie Wallace, with a stick and a hurley. A third man, Mark Kiely, 36, pleaded guilty to assault causing harm in November 2022. The two brothers went on trial at Limerick Circuit Criminal Court in January 2024, where Darren Wallace told the jury he had identified the wrong men and could not remember the events. On 6 February 2024, a jury acquitted both brothers on all charges after just over three hours of deliberation.
