    Darren Thompson, 54, of Buncrana, Co Donegal, is reported to have taken €220 from a wallet he found in Lidl, Buncrana, after the injured party, a man whose name is not given, reported leaving it there on June 30, 2025. Gardaí identified Mr Thompson from CCTV footage, and he was cautioned and made admissions to taking the money. Mr Thompson pleaded guilty to theft at Buncrana District Court, and the case was reported on September 11, 2026. The judge applied the Probation Act so no criminal conviction was recorded, and ordered the €220 to be paid to the injured party.
