On 16 May 2024, Gardaí from the Dublin Crime Response Team seized cocaine with an estimated street value of €160,000 in a van in Sallynoggin and €78,460 in cash at a property in Ballybrack as part of Operation Tara targeting an organised crime group in south County Dublin. Joe Donogher, 55, and Darren Shields, 47, both men, were arrested and charged with possession of cocaine for sale or supply. Both appeared at Dublin District Court on 18 May 2024 and were granted bail with conditions. Donogher later came forward to Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on signed guilty pleas and was sentenced to 33 months' imprisonment in November 2025.
