  • Businessman found in contempt of court over Laois garage dispute Contempt of court · Co. Laois

Alan O'Neill and his partner June Finnegan sued Drumgoan Developments Limited, Noel Martin Senior and Darren Martin over the ownership of a garage adjacent to their home in Portarlington, Co Laois, where they kept exotic pets including a caiman alligator. The couple alleged the garage was damaged by a JCB in February 2024 and that Martin Senior sent them threatening communications, including threats to report them to Tusla. In May 2024, the High Court declared the couple the registered owners of the garage with the consent of both parties. In June 2024, Mr Justice David Nolan found Martin Senior in contempt of court for deliberately and flagrantly breaching orders not to communicate with the couple, adjourning the sanction to October and warning of possible imprisonment for further intimidatory behaviour.
