Darren Lacken, a 41-year-old hairdresser and co-owner of Crow Street Collective salon in Temple Bar, was found unresponsive in a bedroom at his family home on Killala Road, Cabra West, Dublin, at about 4pm on November 17, 2021, by his mother Betty. A postmortem revealed lethal levels of cocaine in his body, with early signs of cardiac fibrosis and fatty liver disease noted but not a factor in his death. At an inquest at Dublin District Coroner's Court in February 2023, Coroner Aisling Gannon returned a verdict of death by misadventure, with no foul play found.
