Darragh Dodrill, a 27-year-old man and former British Army officer, was found in possession of cocaine with an estimated street value of €242,000 during a search of a van at Kilwarden Court, Clondalkin, Dublin, on 25 February 2021. He pleaded guilty to possession of drugs for sale or supply at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, telling the court he began drug dealing to pay off an €8,000 debt that grew to €50,000 and that he was paid in cocaine, most of which he used himself. On 7 November 2022, Judge Melanie Greally sentenced him to seven-and-a-half years, with the final two years suspended on condition he engage with addiction services.
