A witness allegedly told a solicitor at Ennis District Court that he knew who he was and where he lived. Thomas Darcy, a West Clare man, made the remark from the witness box while testifying in a separate assault case. Judge Fiona Brennan referred the matter to An Garda Síochána on 16 December 2025. Darcy denied threatening Ennis-based solicitor Daragh Hassett, saying he had simply gotten excited in the witness box. The Law Society said it did not wish to comment on the individual case.
