• Appeal dismissed in Dublin sexual exploitation of a child case Sexual exploitation of a child · Co. Dublin

Daniel Ramamoorthy, a 40-year-old Indian national (reports differ, with some citing 38), was convicted at a retrial in Dublin of sexually exploiting a 13-year-old boy in 2017 by asking him to send a picture of his penis over Snapchat, and pleaded guilty to possessing child sexual abuse material. The boy first met Ramamoorthy at a Christian children's camp in Dublin where he was volunteering. He was sentenced to two years and four months by Judge Sinéad McMullen in March 2025, with an 18-month concurrent sentence for the possession charge. The Court of Appeal dismissed his appeal against the sentence in April 2026, finding no error in the headline sentence of three years.
