Three people were arrested in Ashbourne, County Meath, on 16 February 2023 in connection with burglaries at golf clubs across the midlands over a six-day period. Mihaela Calin, 35, Daniel Manea, 28, and Daniel Matei, 19, all non-Irish and of Brookville, Hunters Lane, Ashbourne, were charged with a total of 30 counts of burglary. They appeared in custody before Judge Andrew Cody in Tullamore District Court on 20 February 2023, where Calin was granted bail but bail was refused to Manea and Matei. All three were remanded to reappear at Tullamore District Court on 22 February 2023.
