latest first- Two men adjourned over uninsured tractor striking bridge in Laois Uninsured driving · Co. Laois
A tractor struck a railway bridge at Trumera, Laois on 1 November 2024. Daniel Massey, a 19-year-old man, was accused of driving without insurance and striking the bridge, while Keith Delaney, a 33-year-old man, was accused of being the owner of the uninsured tractor. Both men appeared before Portlaoise District Court in July 2025, where defence counsel argued Massey believed his employer had insured the vehicle and that the tractor was registered to Delaney's company, Bloomhill Construction Ltd. The judge noted the company took ownership on 22 January 2025, after the alleged offence. The case was adjourned to 11 September.
