A 19-year-old man, Daniel Braddish, is alleged to have ordered three hot chicken fillet rolls worth €18 at the Spar on Lord Edward Street, Kilmallock, Co Limerick, at 10.02am on 30 July 2024 and left without paying. He was arrested by Limerick gardaí and pleaded guilty to one count of theft at Limerick district court, as reported on 4 October 2024. The judge adjourned the matter on condition that he pay €100 to a charity by 17 December 2024, failing which he will be convicted of theft and fined €300.

On 8 April 2019, Daniel Braddish entered Bar One Racing on William Street, Limerick, with his face covered and threatened a woman with garden shears, taking €455.06 from the till. His brother John Braddish, 50, was captured on CCTV engaging with Daniel before and after the robbery and had bought the shears at Dealz shortly beforehand. Daniel Braddish was jailed for five and a half years in December 2019. John Braddish pleaded guilty to a robbery charge and was sentenced in October 2022 to six years, with the final two years suspended.
