    A boy's body was found on open ground in Donabate, North County Dublin, on 17 September 2025. DNA analysis later confirmed the remains were those of Daniel Arubose, a toddler. On 11 December 2025, Gardaí said the death was now being treated as a homicide and opened a criminal investigation. No suspect has been named and no arrest has been made. Daniel's 8th birthday would have fallen on 12 December 2025.
