Damien Galvin, 43, a man of Carbury, Kildare, was charged with threatening a man from Rathangan in two phone calls, the first on 30 July 2021 and the second after gardaí were called, in which he allegedly said he would put a hole in the man's head and threatened criminal damage to his property. The dispute reportedly arose after the injured party made derogatory comments towards Galvin some weeks earlier. Galvin appeared at Naas District Court on 2 June 2022, where Judge Desmond Zaidan granted him bail with conditions and refused jurisdiction citing the serious nature of the allegations. The case is set to return on 5 July 2022 for a book of evidence.
