  On 29 October 2020, 100,000 Excellence brand cigarettes without tax stamps were found at the Sportsman's Pub in Dundalk, County Louth. Daire McKenna, 38, of Rampart Pier, Derryadd, Craigavon, was charged with keeping the cigarettes for sale or delivery without tax stamps and with dealing with excisable products with intent to defraud the State of €56,000 in duty, including excise and VAT. At Dundalk court on 14 September 2022, the DPP directed prosecution on indictment. Judge Eirinn McKiernan adjourned the case to 19 October 2022 for the preparation and service of a book of evidence, with the case facing Circuit Court level.
