  • Gardaí probe unprovoked assault at Shankill Dart Station and Mater Hospital Assault · Co. Dublin

Corina Flood, a 44-year-old woman from Finglas, was punched in the face and kicked to the head when she tried to intervene in an unprovoked attack by a man in his 30s on her male friend and his girlfriend at Shankill Dart Station at approximately 7:55pm on St Patrick's Day, 17 March 2022. The male friend was knocked unconscious with a broken nose and fractured ribs, and the girlfriend sustained facial injuries, in an attack that lasted about 10 minutes in front of families with young children. Separately, a worker in the emergency department at the Mater Hospital was assaulted at 3:10am on Friday 18 March 2022, with no injuries confirmed at the time of reporting. No arrests have been made in either incident and Gardaí are making enquiries. A GoFundMe was set up to raise €3,000 to cover Corina's medical expenses.
