Corey O'Kane, a 26-year-old man of Milltown, Convoy, Co. Corey O'Kane, of Milltown, Convoy, Donegal, aged 25 or 26 according to differing reports, was charged over two incidents: the taking of a Ford Transit minibus at Main Street, Convoy, on August 13, 2022, and an assault causing harm on a man at Ard Lonan, Letterkenny, on October 31, 2022, in which a knife was produced. He was in custody from March 2024 and pleaded guilty to both offences before Judge John Aylmer at Letterkenny Circuit Court in June 2024, when sentencing was adjourned. In December 2024 he was ordered to 240 hours of community service and a prison sentence of two years and four months, with the final 16 months suspended.
