On April 15, 2024, Conor O'Shaughnessy, 29, of Granard, was driving at Granard View when a garda on patrol at 9.55pm saw his back left lights and registration plate light were not working. After a roadside test he was arrested and taken to Granard Garda Station, and a blood specimen showed drugs in his system. He pleaded guilty to drug driving at Longford District Court, and the court fined him €500 with 10 months to pay and imposed a 12-month driving ban, deferred until October 1. The sentence was reported on May 10, 2025.
