• Drink driving charge struck out at Carrick-on-Shannon court after Garda retires and loses notebook Drink driving · Co. Kildare

Conor McCormack, a 34-year-old man of Newbridge, Co Kildare, was arrested over an alleged drink driving offence; the sources do not give the incident date. He appeared before Judge Sandra Murphy at Carrick-on-Shannon District Court on 22 July 2025, where the prosecution could not offer evidence because the arresting Garda had retired and his notebook, which held the official statement, could not be found. The court struck out the charge and no conviction was recorded. The latest development, reported on 30 and 31 July 2025, is that the case was dismissed on that procedural basis.
