latest first- Obstruction charge dismissed at Dundalk court Obstruction (in the course of duty) · Co. Louth
Colm Beatty, 33, was charged with obstructing a garda after pushing a door against a female officer during a search warrant execution at Oyster Bay Court, Carlingford, around 8.40pm on 19 November 2020. The female garda sustained a bruised arm from being jammed between the door and Beatty. Beatty denied the charge, claiming he was in fear for himself and others in the property. At Dundalk district court in November 2021, Judge John Brennan dismissed the charge, finding reasonable doubt about whether Beatty knew the officers were gardaí.
