  On 25 February 2023, Gardaí responded to a call of a man kicking the door of an apartment on the Castletown Road, Dundalk, and found Colin McKenna, 26, sleeping in the garden of his partner's property. He gave a false name to Gardaí and became abusive and aggressive when charged. He was prosecuted for public order offences, including intoxication in a public place, threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour, and providing a false name, as well as earlier offences at Peter Street in October 2022. At Dundalk District Court in March 2023, Judge Eirinn McKiernan imposed a two-month sentence for the threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour charge, suspended on a 12-month bond of good behaviour.
