  • Three men sentenced for ATM cash trapping in Dublin Theft and criminal damage (ATM cash trapping) · Co. Dublin

    Three Romanian men, Codrin Manoli (26), Calin Scintei (32) and Marius Crisan (29), used cash-trapping devices to steal over €6,000 from 43 AIB ATMs and cause over €18,000 in damage across Dublin, Louth, Meath and Kildare between 4 and 12 July 2024. AIB contacted gardaí after noticing the damage, and the men were arrested after being caught stealing €1,000 from an ATM in Blackrock. They pleaded guilty to a total of 28 offences at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. On 10 April 2025, Manoli and Scintei were sentenced to three years in prison, while Crisan received a three-year suspended sentence.
