latest first- Man charged with drug offences in Delgany shooting and assault probe Shooting and assault · Co. Wicklow
On 14 December 2023, Clinton McCormack, 44, a man, and his teenage son were chased through a building site at Bellevue Hill, Delgany, Co Wicklow, where McCormack was shot four times by a person armed with a handgun and his son was struck with the butt of the gun. McCormack was initially expected to survive his non-life-threatening injuries but died in hospital on 19 December 2023 from what doctors believe was an undiagnosed brain tumour. Gardaí believe the attack was part of a long-running criminal dispute involving the Bray area and do not consider there was an intent to kill. On 4 January 2024, a man in his 40s was arrested during six searches across Wicklow and Dublin and charged with drug offences; he is due to appear in court at a later date.
