On August 24, 2023, cocaine and cash were found in a house in west Kildare. The suspect, Ciaran Bowers, is a 39-year-old man whose address was given as 15 Churchview, Kilmeague. Gardaí found cocaine valued at €1,435 and €700 in cash, which Bowers said came from selling cocaine. Bowers was prosecuted for possessing the drug at Naas District Court, where Judge Desmond Zaidan imposed a €1,200 fine, ordered the €700 forfeited to the Garda Benevolent Fund and the drugs destroyed, as reported on May 29, 2025.
