  • Woman remanded on bail over six firearms and ammunition charges in Dundalk Possession of firearm · Co. Louth

    On Friday 21 August 2026 gardaí searched several residential properties in Dundalk, Co Louth, during an operation targeting an organised crime group, and seized firearms, ammunition and viable improvised explosive devices. Ciara Brady, 34, was arrested, detained under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939, and charged at Dundalk Garda Station on Sunday 23 August with four counts of possessing a firearm and two counts of possessing ammunition in suspicious circumstances. On Monday 24 August she appeared before Judge Stephanie Coggans at a special sitting of Dundalk District Court, where she was remanded on bail to Dundalk District Court on 25 November 2026 for directions of the DPP.
