  Gardaí from the Cork City Divisional Drugs Unit seized 10kg of cocaine worth €700,000, 3kg of cannabis worth €60,000, and €40,000 in cash at Maryborough Ridge, Douglas, Cork, on 30 December 2025 as part of Operation Tara, with follow-up searches in Dublin 14 on 31 December recovering a further 0.5kg of cannabis worth €9,000 and €4,000 cash. man Christopher McCudden, 38, and man Michael Pineda, 35, were arrested and charged with possession of drugs for sale or supply and money laundering offences. Both appeared before a special sitting of Cork District Court on 2 January 2026, where McCudden was remanded in custody with consent to bail to 8 January and Pineda was remanded on bail to appear on 2 April.
