latest first- Accidental death verdict in Kildare motorway collision Death (road traffic accident) · Co. Kildare
Stephen O'Driscoll, a 24-year-old father-of-one from Co Carlow, was ejected from a JJ Kavanagh bus after hitting his sister Chloe O'Driscoll in the face and becoming aggressive and abusive. He was then struck by a car driven by Michael Malone on the M9 near Kilcullen, Co Kildare, on 7 December 2019. An inquest at Kildare Coroner's Court heard evidence from the bus driver, the sister, the motorist, and a fellow passenger. Coroner Professor Denis Cusack returned a verdict of accidental death, noting that cocaethylene found in the victim's system could explain his uncharacteristic behaviour.
