  On 9 February 2024, a man was reported acting erratically with a knife in Limerick City and the Corbally area, and Gardaí allege he was seen with a Swiss Army knife at Colbert Station, kicked a woman in the back on Athlunkard Street causing a minor hand injury, and was later spotted with an open Stanley knife in the Corbally area. Chinonso Igboanusi, 28, of no fixed abode and described by the defence as an Irish citizen, was arrested at a Lidl in Westbury Shopping Centre with the assistance of the Armed Support Unit and charged with two counts of possession of a knife and one count of assault on a female. He appeared before Nenagh District Court on 10 February and was remanded in custody, bail was refused on 20 February, and on 5 March 2024 he was further remanded in custody for a psychiatric evaluation.
