Charlotte O'Sullivan, a woman from Kilmastulla, Birdhill, Tipperary, was found in possession of cannabis on 9 June 2020 when gardaí searched her home and found one large deal in a pouch, two smaller deals in a box, a weighing scale and deal bags under her bed. She was charged with sale or supply of cannabis but pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis valued at €1,130. In May 2022, Judge Elizabeth MacGrath dismissed the supply charge and upheld the guilty plea to possession, ordering a probation report for 28 July 2022. O'Sullivan told the court she had bought the cannabis for €650 in March 2020 from two people who drove from Limerick and said she was using it for anxiety as lockdown approached.
