Charles Dwan, a 66-year-old man from Ballinteer, Dublin, was found in possession of over 28,000 child sexual abuse images and videos on two devices at his home. The images, all in the explicit category, had been downloaded between September 2014 and February 2018. Dwan admitted possession on 2 February 2018 and later entered signed pleas of guilty at the District Court. He was sentenced to 15 months' imprisonment at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court in October 2022.
