On 24 February 2015, Gardaí stopped a vehicle on the Templemore road outside Roscrea that had sped away from a patrol car, finding a cannabis joint on the dashboard and a package of cannabis in the boot. A search of Cesius Grigas's rented address at The Gatehouse, Abbey Street, Roscrea, revealed cannabis worth €8,028 in the kitchen. The 41-year-old man pleaded guilty to sale or supply of drugs and possession of drugs but failed to appear before Nenagh District Court in October 2015 and was believed to have gone to Germany. He was arrested by German police in March 2021 on a European arrest warrant, spent nine months in custody in Munich, and was extradited to Ireland in November 2021. In October 2022, Judge Cormac Quinn at Nenagh Circuit Criminal Court sentenced him to 18 months, suspended in his own bond of €200.
