latest first- Two remanded in custody over Dublin city centre robbery Robbery · Co. Dublin
A 64-year-old woman who walked with a stick was robbed on Lower O'Connell Street, Dublin, just before 9.00am on Friday 3 July 2026, suffering a dislocated shoulder and losing her phone, keys, €25 and other items. Ceiligh McCormack, 29, and John Byrne, 28, were arrested at Exchequer Street in the city centre and charged in connection with the incident. Both appeared before Judge Michelle Finan at Dublin District Court on Saturday, made no reply when charged, and had no legal representation due to ongoing solicitors' industrial action. The judge remanded both in custody to appear the following week for a bail ruling.
