  Jack O'Donoghue, a 33-year-old man from Askeaton, Co. Limerick, was pronounced dead at the scene of a single-vehicle motorcycle collision on the N69 at Clounreask shortly before 8:00pm on 9 April 2025. Catherine Russell, a 65-year-old woman of Ballyengland, Askeaton, was charged with careless driving causing death and related offences. She appeared before Limerick District Court in January 2026 and then before Newcastle West District Court on 24 February 2026, where she made no reply to the charge. The DPP consented to her being sent forward for trial at Limerick Circuit Court, and she was remanded on bail to appear again at the end of April.
