Carl Reilly, a 33-year-old man disqualified from driving, drove a rented van through a garda checkpoint at Grange Road, Rathfarnham, Dublin, on 28 May 2020, forcing garda Declan Buckley to jump out of the way. He sped down the wrong side of the road at 100 km/h in a 50 km/h zone and broke a red light before Gardaí decided not to pursue him for safety reasons.
