On 22 and 23 June 2022, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau carried out a multi-location operation in Dublin, seizing cannabis, cocaine and heroin with an estimated street value of over €2 million along with over €864,000 in cash. Cocaine worth about €150,000 had been liquidised and stored in wine and champagne bottles at a Beaumont property. Three suspects attempted to escape by swimming the River Liffey after a car was stopped on the M50; gardaí swam after them and caught two, with the third arrested the next day. Seven men were arrested in total, and six have been charged with possession of drugs for sale or supply and money laundering. Gary Graham, 47, and Carl Powell, 34, were remanded in custody at the Criminal Courts of Justice on 24 and 25 June 2022, while the others were granted bail with conditions.
