Cameron Bond, a 50-year-old English man from Mettesford, Derbyshire, clambered over security screening at Dublin Airport on 18 November 2022 to catch a flight to Dubai for the World Cup in Qatar. He was arrested in Terminal Two by Garda David Walsh and charged with trespass and an offence under the Air Navigation and Transport Act for causing a false alarm. He appeared at Dublin District Court on 19 November 2022, initially made no reply, then pleaded guilty after legal aid was granted. Judge Anthony Halpin applied the Probation of Offenders Act, sparing him a recorded conviction, and ordered him to pay £1,000 to the Little Flower Penny Dinners charity.
