Buti Sashi, a 26-year-old man, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for violent attacks on transgender sex workers in their Dublin homes in 2017. Prosecutors said he was armed with a large knife and assaulted, sexually assaulted, and robbed three victims across incidents in May and June 2017, leaving them with fractures and stab wounds. A mobile phone dropped at the second crime scene led to his identification, and he pleaded guilty to robbery, assault, aggravated burglary, false imprisonment, and sexual assault. The case was heard at the Central Criminal Court before Justice Eileen Creedon. Judge Martin Nolan later imposed additional sentences for related offences, with the total reduced on the totality principle.
