  Brigid Nevin, 82, of Ardilaun Heights, Mullingar, was stopped by Garda Kieran Fitzpatrick on the N52 at Arden, Tullamore, for driving a Jaguar two litre without motor tax. She failed to pay the fixed charge notice and the matter was brought to Tullamore District Court. Her solicitor told the court she could not afford the tax, which was in excess of €300, and that she had six children. Judge Patricia Cronin fined her €300 in April 2022. She had 23 previous convictions, four of which were for driving without tax.
