latest first- Public order case not heard at Naas court over face shield Public order · Co. Kildare
Kenneth Donnelly, 52, of Crosneen, Carlow, and Bridget Scanlon, of 14 Dolmen Heights, Carlow, are accused of a public order offence near Athy railway station on 2 June 2021. Donnelly was due to appear at Naas District Court on 18 November 2021 but was refused entry because he did not have a face shield on, despite being medically exempt from wearing a face mask. Judge Desmond Zaidan refused to hear the case, citing ongoing Covid-19 deaths as a reason not to put the court in danger. Bail was continued for Donnelly until his reappearance at Athy District Court on 25 January 2022.
