latest first- Families question DPP decision not to prosecute over M50 fatal crash Unknown (fatal incident on M50; prosecution decision) · Co. Dublin
Two English motorcyclists, Paul Ingram, 59, and Brian McFarlane, 63, were killed instantly on 3 June 2022 when they collided with each other on their Harley Davidson bikes on the M50 Northbound between Junctions 7 and 9 in Dublin and were struck by a truck travelling behind. Gardaí investigated the crash, appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage, and used DNA technology to formally identify the victims. The DPP decided not to bring a criminal prosecution, believing the crash was a freak accident with no wrongdoing suspected. The families of both men have questioned that decision at a sitting of Dublin District Coroner's Court.
