  Gardaí said they found suspected cocaine estimated to be worth around €4,500 at the home of Brandon Byrne, a 22-year-old man, at 864 Piercetown in Newbridge, County Kildare. The alleged possession was on July 29, 2023, and gardaí claimed the cocaine was held for sale or supply. The case first came before Naas District Court on Thursday, April 4, 2024, when Judge Desmond Zaidan was told of the alleged discovery and adjourned the case to July 18 for directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions. Mr Byrne was remanded on continuing bail until the case resumes.
