Billy Duffy, a 55-year-old man from Arklow, Co Wicklow, and Garda David McHugh, a 37-year-old man, were sent forward for trial at Dublin District Court on 9 February 2026. Duffy is charged with nine counts of unauthorised disclosure of personal data obtained from McHugh between 2019 and 2022, and with perverting the course of justice by asking another garda to interfere with a prosecution in 2018. McHugh faces 11 offences including disclosing confidential Garda Pulse information about a sudden death investigation in Bray, Co Wicklow, and interfering with a garda investigation. The DPP directed that both face trial on indictment, and they were sent forward on bail to the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, with the case listed for mention on 21 May.
