    On 14 May 2019, Brian McLaughlin, 32, and Ciara McLaughlin, 50, assaulted Patrick Montgomery at Ard Clogher, Carndonagh, Donegal, and each made threats to kill or cause serious harm through another person to Bernard 'Barney' Logue and Lisa Holmes respectively. The pair, both of Moyle Road, Milford, were originally due to stand trial before a judge and jury after pleading not guilty. They were re-arraigned at Letterkenny Circuit Court in February 2025 and pleaded guilty to all charges. Judge John Aylmer adjourned sentencing to the October session of the court, with probation reports requested for both defendants.
