Jacob Oriahi, a 61-year-old taxi driver from Mountmellick, was accused of careless driving that injured a cyclist in the Cloncourse area on 22 December 2024. The injured cyclist, Baha Baha, a 66-year-old man, said he broke his leg in the collision. Gardaí generated a summons under Section 52 of the Road Traffic Act after a roadside breath test was passed.
