latest first- Swedish contract killer Axel Erick Wolfgang Liebsch Morales killed in Limerick car crash Road traffic collision · Co. Limerick
On Monday 8 June 2026 at about 11pm, a three-car collision on the N21 between Abbeyfeale and Newcastle West, County Limerick, killed Axel Erick Wolfgang Liebsch Morales, a 33-year-old Swedish man who was a passenger in a black Seat Leon. Gardaí believe he and a Swedish driver were on their way to carry out a feud-related contract killing for Irish criminals when they went the wrong way and crashed, and the driver fled on foot and remained at large. Three people in the other two vehicles were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and Gardaí have sent alerts, are checking ports and airports, and are working with Swedish police. The latest development, reported on 14 June, is that a phone left in the car is proving key to the investigation, and no arrest or charge has been reported.
