In April 2019 gardaí searched the Clondalkin home of Austin Odibei, a 49-year-old man originally from Nigeria, after Google reported suspected child sexual abuse material on an account linked to him, and 15 files were found across a camera and a phone. He pleaded guilty to possession of child sexual abuse material in April 2019. He was sentenced at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court before Judge Orla Crowe to 18 months in prison, suspended for three years with a good behaviour condition, a sentence reported on 19 February 2026.
