  On 5 November 2023 at 11.58am, gardaí stopped a Nissan Micra at Rathduff on the M9 in Kilkenny after an ANPR alert showed it had no tax. The car was found to have a falsified insurance disc, and the driver, a man named as Asadullah Noorzai, pleaded guilty at Kilkenny District Court to driving without insurance. The driver was convicted, disqualified from driving for two years, and fined, with a €300 fine for exhibiting a false disc, and the car was seized. The sentencing was reported by Kilkenny People on 25 September 2024, and recognisance was fixed in the event of an appeal.
