On Friday 13 March 2026, Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau personnel searched several vehicles and a business premises in Co. Monaghan and seized suspected cocaine with an estimated value of €5.25 million, though some reports give €5.2 million or €5 million. Arunas Racyla, a 53-year-old Lithuanian man with an address in Carrickmacross, and a woman in her 40s were arrested, and Racyla was charged on Sunday 15 March with possession of cocaine and possession for sale or supply, while the woman was released without charge. Racyla appeared at Monaghan District Court on 16 March 2026, where Judge Raymond Finnegan remanded him in custody with no bail application. He is due to appear by video link on 23 March 2026 for directions of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
